Installing Carpet Tiles
Installing carpet tiles is a very straightforward process that many people can do themselves, but a few measures must be taken to ensure a proper installation.
Adhesive carpet tiles typically include a peel-and-stick backing for easy installation. Simply peel off the backing and firmly press the tile into position. To avoid gaps, ensure that each tile is securely aligned.
Glue-Down Tiles: Certain tiles may require more adhesive in high-traffic areas. Apply the glue to the flooring and push the tiles in place as you go, making sure they are perfectly aligned.
Carpet squares typically do not require underlay as they can be laid directly on the subfloor. However, if you require more comfort or insulation, then carpet underlay can be placed under the carpet tiles. This is especially handy in chilly locations or where extra cushioning is desired such as in bedrooms.
