Cost Considerations when Replacing your Carpet

Replacing the carpet in your home can be very exciting. There are so many options out there and our experience sales staff are here to listen to your requirements. 

The cost to replace your residential carpet will depend on the space, how many joins are required, if any stairs are present and of course the carpet chosen. 

Here are a run down of a few of the costs involved with replacing your carpets: 

* SUPPLY – This is the biggest factor when determining your budget (or sticking to it). You can control this charge as it will depend on the carpet fibre, style and manufacturer chosen. Often 100% wool carpets will be more expensive than their synthetic fibre counterparts. 

* CARPET REMOVAL – If you’re replacing your carpets then this will incur an additional charge. This includes removal and disposal. 

* FURNITURE – Mr Carpet does charge a small additional fee for the removal of furniture. Please discuss this with our team as a specialist may also be required (for pianos etc). To save money, you might want to consider doing this yourself.

* SUB-FLOOR PREPARATION – Occasionally the subfloor needs to be cleaned or levelled prior to the installation of carpets. This usually occurs if changing from floorboards to carpets. 

* UNDERLAY – Just like with your carpet, you have a choice of underlays. Our quotations include standard underlay however there are upgrades available depending upon your requirements and budget. 

* STAIRS – The number of stairs in your house can impact your quotation. Stairs can be tricky and are time consuming. This will be raised when providing your quotation. 

* LAYING – We can either offer supply only or quotations including installation. Our in-house team of layers are professional and will ensure your new carpet is installed perfectly.
